I am at work last week and some guy that I am waiting on, says "Is this a good hair day or a bad hair day for you?"

I kinda chuckled and said "Any day with hair is a good hair day for me!"  I don't tend to throw out there to total strangers, especially at work, that I have lost my hair BUT...what else could I say?  What would you say?

I would like to have some witty response in my back pocket just in case.

Hi Chrissie!

Some people just don't seem to think about what they are saying before they say it!  I think the response you had was quite witty.  I have heard of other people who have said things like 'this style is courtesy of chemo' or 'my hairstylist is my chemo nurse', with the intent to put idiots in their place!  Not sure it works, but it is worth a try!  LOL

*Hugs*

Oh dear Chrissie!
Well, if the man was bald, I would say, "at least mine will grow back."
Your response was a good one, however!
But I think if someone said to me while I was bald, "is today a good hair day or a bad hair day?" I would smile at him and just say, "why?"
Once you put it back in their court, they realize how STUPID their question was!
hugs to you

Thanks ladies! I actually do have some hair it is just about an inch long and curly as can be.  Had I not been working I would have probably had a very sarcastic, and not so nice, response.  While it is a joke to call what I do "work" (1 day per week for 4 hours with slightly more hours during Back to School) I still don't want to be rude and lose my gig.

Some people...

Here is hoping my hair grows quickly!!

A drug rep referred to my look as "scalped" last week.  I was at a loss too.

Michele!!!  I think we just must look so fabulous and healthy that people don't possibly think our hair is the result of having had chemo!

Creeps...they are everywhere.  They know they are being rude and obnoxious.  This guy deserved "EGG in his FACE!!!".  I don't think I could have been as kind or patient as you!   Some humans are "not" human.  They are mean, cruel, and contemptible.  There should be a number we can call CREEP:.. Police, arrest this SOB!!!...and why would this SOB decide it was time to make his day by picking on someone he doesn't know?  A creep.  One day, he will wake up with cancer, hairless, and wish he'd  been kind to a woman as pretty. beautiful and exceptional as you.   One day, I hope he remembers what an arsewhole he was last week.  Maybe he is down and out, and needed a victim.  Grrrrr...
I was used to receiving compliments, kindness, and hopeful thoughts throughout my life.  Cancer, induced menopause, and the aftermath changed everything.  Going through these changes can be devastating.  Who needs the slime-molds, slime brains,m slime-minus humans, and venomous trolls lifting under our cheerful bridge...the mold women and  slime-men,  a man.  (((hugs))) ((((hugs)))) (((((hugs)))))

Love,
Indi

Indi... don't forget Karma. She works so fast sometimes against creeps!
Remember the doc I went on a couple of dates with who told me he doesn't want to date a woman with BC because, as a doctor, he "knows how it ends and it isn't pretty." And three weeks later he was dx'd with Prostate Cancer????

KARMA WAS ON OVERDRIVE!!!!

If the guy didn't know, he was probably just trying to be funny since so many women's moods are pretty much in direct correlation with our hair.

When I first went 'topless' I went from a beautiful very real looking short wig, to looking like I had changed it up to a militant crew cut. I used to joke about it all the time. If he did know, I found that most people werent intentionally being insensitive, they just didn't know what to say.

I think your answer was fabulous no matter which category he was in.

Omg, what a jerk.
Calico is so right, his dating days are over. Oh well, happens to the best of them. Pretty dumb for a doctor. He hasn't a clue...
